Decisions Taken During The 10th Central Police Welfare Committee Meeting Held On December 11, 2010. Enhancement of Special Welfare Relief from Rs.6.00 lacs to Rs.6.50 lacs (including Immediate Relief from Rs.10,000/- to Rs.25,000/-) in respect of NOK of subscribers from December 11, 2010.

Introduction of Special Welfare Relief of Rs.1.00 lac to NOK of SPO’S who expire while in service with effect from December 11, 2010. Enhancement of Retirement Gift from Rs.3000/- to Rs.35,000/- in respect of Police Personnel.

Enhancement of Scholarships in respect of the wards of Serving / Deceased Police Personnel as under:

i Meritorious scholarships for class 8th  & 9th  to the wards of serving police personnel securing 75% marks & above. From Rs.840/- to Rs.2400/- per annum.
ii   Scholarships to wards of Police personnel killed in          militancy related incidents:
A Upto 5th  Pry. From Rs.1800/- to Rs.2400/-P.A.
B 6th   to 10th   class From Rs.3000/- to Rs.6000/-P.A
C 11th   to Graduation (including Diploma in Technical Courses) From Rs.4200/- to Rs.10,000/- P.A
D Technical courses of 4 years and above From Rs.4800/- to Rs.12000/- P.A
Scholarship to the wards of deceased personnel (other than wards  of Martyrs)
Wards studying upto 10th  class (upto  03 wards only ) From Rs.1200/- to Rs.2400/- p.a.

Increase in Number of Wards for DGP Special Reward as under;

i Wards of GO’S From 6 to 12  (04 rewards each for 10th, 10+02 and Graduation)
ii NGO’S From 9 to 18 (06 rewards each for 10th, 10+02 and Graduation)
iii HC’S/SGCT/CT/FOLL. From 24 to 72 (24 rewards each for 10th, 10+02 and Graduation)

Award of DGP Commendation Certificate with Cash Reward:  To Wards of Serving Police Personnel securing First (03) Positions in National Level Sports events on following scales:-

1st  Position Rs.5000/-
2nd Position Rs.3000/-
3rd  Position Rs.2000/-

Enhancement of powers of various Police Welfare Committees for grant of welfare loan/relief;

Introducing of immediate loan upto Rs.50,000/- in respect of Police Personnel suffering from life terminal diseases/emergent cases for treatment outside the State

Financial Assistance to SPOs upto Rs.25,000/- suffering from life terminal diseases/serious injuries in emergent cases.

Free Schooling to Wards of Martyred SPOs in J&K Police Public Schools.

Opening of Police Public Schools at Anantnag, Baramulla, Doda and Rajouri Districts. Two Higher Secondary Level Schools are already functioning one each at Miran Sahib Jammu and Bemina Srinagar. Two schools at Middle level were opened each at Leh and Kargil Districts.

Process for affiliation of Higher Secondary Police-Public Schools of Miran Sahib Jammu and Bemina Srinagar with CBSE New-Delhi.

Introducing of Central Police Canteen Facility for J&K Serving/Retired Police Personnel and their families on the pattern of CSD.

Establishment of Police Petrol Pumps at all District level under Police Parivar for providing of job opportunities to the family members of Police Martyrs.

Consolidation of GPF accounts of all Police Personnel by DDO concerned through concerned police GPF cells.

Establishment of two Police Housing Colonies each at Srinagar and Jammu.
