Come forward to build bright future of families: Mrs. Khoda Charirperson PWWA to Police Wives


 

Jammu, January 28: In order to encourage the lady workers, a simple function was organized at Police Welfare Centre, Gulshan Grounds here this afternoon. Chairperson, Jammu and Kashmir Police Wives Welfare Association, (JKPWWA), Dr. Indu Koul Khoda presided.

Addressing the workers, Dr. Indu stressed upon the lady workers of police parivar to come forward and provide assistance to their families and build the bright future of children. She said in present times the female gender has to work hand to hand with male members for the betterment of the society. She said that the aim of Welfare Association is to improve living standard of the wives of all ranks of the force including wives of martyrs.

The Chairperson added that during past four years, in order to achieve better quality in the products of welfare centres, latest equipments of cutting, tailoring and other arts have been made available to the workers of these centres. Steps are underway to upgrade these centres in the state on modern lines.

The Chairperson accompanied by other lady members of JKPWWA also visited different sections of the centre and enquired about the working and quality of the products fabricated. She was apprised that the workers have been provided latest equipments including interlock machine, button hole machine, cutting and stitching machines etc which has improved the working conditions of the workers. Wives of police martyrs besides other personnel, having proficiency in different trades like cutting tailoring, ari work, sozni work, embroidery, and knitting have been engaged in the Centre, which inter-alia undertake fabrication of uniforms for all ranks of police.

She also disclosed that the items of these centres are put on display during Police Public Meles and is marketed on a big scale, that has become a big attraction for the people. She said that to improve the working of the centres uninterrupted power supply has been ensured by installing gensets. Free transport is being provided to the workers to enhance the facilities, besides computerization of records as better working conditions, she added.

On the occasion, some more professional lady workers were registered with the centre. Chairperson distributed cash rewards among the lady workers, who performed well and earned more than rupees ten thousand a month. She also distributed dinner sets among the 51 lady workers of the centre.

Among others, the function was attended by AIG (Povision & Transport) PHQ, Mr. Aftab Ahmed Kakroo, Lady Members of JKPWWA, Deputy Superintendents of Police, Mrs. Madhu Bandral, Mr. Yogesh Sharma and Mr. Paramjit Singh and other police offices.
