Jammu & Kashmir Police-Public School Bemina celebrates Annual day


 
Srinagar (Kashmir), October 01: Jammu and Kashmir Police in the first instance established two police public schools in two capital cities at Srinagar and Jammu. These schools have been upgraded up to higher secondary level and are imparting free education to the wards of police martyrs, besides the wards of serving personnel and civilians on concessional rates.

This was disclosed by Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. Kuldeep Khoda, who is also Patron of Police Public Schools, at a function held at SKICC here this afternoon. The function was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police Parivar to celebrate the annual day of Police Public School, Bemina.

Giving details, the DGP said that free hostel facilities to the wards of martyrs are also being provided and the schools have been equipped with latest techniques of modern education. He said that the Organization is expanding its activities in the field and has established such schools at district headquarters of Rajouri, Doda, Anantnag, Leh and Kargil. These schools running under the aegis of Police Parivar are providing education to the children belonging to far-flung areas.

Mr. Khoda expressed his satisfaction over the performance of these schools and said that the students of the schools excelling in the professional and competitive examinations held by the government last year. He stressed upon the managements of these schools for bringing improvement and provide better education to the children as per latest requirements. He further said that all the police public schools will be equipped with latest techniques to make them more effective.

Chairperson, J&K Police Parivar, Dr. Indu Koul Khoda, while dwelling on the initiatives taken in recent years by the Association for up-gradation of police public schools and functioning of newly established schools said that our aim was to promote academic excellence and suffice facilities of education to cater needs of the children. She said that new infrastructure has been added for a self contained education atmosphere with all modern facilities.

Earlier, the administrator of school, DIG, Mr. A. G. Mir gave detailed resume of the functioning of the school. He said that the students excelled in various competitive examinations and made the staff proud. He said that it was due to the hard work and dedication of the school management that efforts of the organization have yielded good results.

The Principal of the Institution, Mr. Tasim Wahidi welcomed the guests and threw light on the academic and other extra-curricular activities of the school. On the occasion, the students presented cultural items including Kashmiri, Dogri, Punjabi and patriotic songs which were highly applauded by the audience.

Among others, Additional Directors General of Police, Mr. K Rajindra Kumar, Dr. Ram Lubhaya, Mr. Naveen Aggarwal and D R Doley, Inspectors General of Police, Mr. S M Sahai, Raja Aijaz Ali, Mr. Farooq Ahmad and Mr. H K Lohia, Besides, the students and their parents, attended the function. Deputy Commisiioner, Srinagar Mr. Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo, SSPs Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, Rafiq-ul-Hassan and other ranks of police.
